Roberto is a progressive, integrative thinker and business-oriented designer, providing visionary direction in the IDS studio. He offers over twenty-five years of experience in the visioning, strategic master planning, design and development of multi-million dollar local and international mixed-use development projects of varying scale and complexity. Roberto is consistently successful in balancing principles of design with local values, goals and resources, and crafting solutions with an authentic yet distinctive and memorable sense of place appropriate to local context.

Significant projects include: Niagara Skywheel, Niagara Speedway, Zombie Attack, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Wizards Golf, Great Canadian Midway XD Theatre; Dinosaur Adventure Golf; Universal Studios Australia; Sault Ste. Marie Casino, OLG; Mississauga Square One, Hammerson Canada; Blue Mountain, Intrawest Development; The Villages, Lake Sumpter Landing, Florida; Toronto Film Studios; Toronto Distillery, Hiram Walker; The University of British Columbia master plan; and the National Capital Commission Confederation Square.

Roberto holds a B.L. Arch from the University of Toronto and completed an EMBA certificate from Rotman Executive Education Program at the University of Toronto.

Sylvia Härm

PRINCIPAL

BLArch., OALA, CSLA, ULI, IAAPA

Sylvia is passionate about humancentric design; the study and response of and how places are shaped by people’s social and physical interactions in conjunction with how our natural and built environments are pivotal in influencing human behavior. She is also fascinated with place branding; how places attain identity, whether it be imposed or organically derived. Sylvia co-established IDS ten years ago. She brings over twenty-five years of experience in the planning and project management of high profile international and local urban and attraction-based projects of varying scale and complexity. In addition to theme park master planning, attraction layout, story development and entertainment-related branding, her creative background encompasses a wide spectrum of design disciplines including modern dance and performance art choreography. Sylvia volunteers her time as a professional mentor for the Grade 8 “Sustainable Cities” initiative at the Bishop Strachan School, as well as a member of the school's Alumnae Association (BSSAA).


Distinguished projects include: Niagara Speedway, Zombie Attack, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Wizard’s Golf, Universal Studios, Florida; WALABI group theme parks Wavre, Belgium and Flevo, Netherlands; LEGOLAND expansion for Billund Denmark, Windsor UK, and Carlsbad USA; Skydome Toronto; as well as the Jurassic Park Travelling Exhibits (AMNH New York, Museon Den Haag, Rome and Bristol).  Sylvia continues her involvement at the Bishop Strachan School in Toronto providing Placemaking presentations and contributing as a professional mentor for the Grade 8 Sustainable Cities initiative.


Sylvia holds a B.L. Arch from the University of Toronto, studied modern dance at the School of the Toronto Dance Theatre and was a student at the National Ballet School.

Aaron Melindy

Dip. Architectural Technology

Aaron is an energetic designer with a keen attention for aesthetics. As a core member of the IDS team, he has worked on various scale developments and demonstrates an innovative ability to communicate multi-dimensional information into graphic renderings and 3-D animation. This technical expertise translates into creative and functional design solutions that are efficiently managed within production deadlines.


Notable projects for his career include: The Beachouse, Newfoundland; Niagara Skywheel, Niagara Speedway, Zombie Attack, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!; Princes Gates, Toronto; and, Fargo, North Dakota


Aaron holds a diploma in Architectural Technology from Sheridan College.
